Peace Pole Renewal Ceremony & Time Capsule Installation

For over 25 years, a Peace Pole has stood as a quiet but powerful symbol here at Terra Nova Center—rooted in our earlier home in Charlotte and connected to the global Peace Pole movement. Bearing the message “May Peace Prevail On Earth,” it has served as a steady prayer for unity, healing, and peace on this land.

At this time, our original Peace Pole has reached the end of its life, and we are being called to renew it. On Sunday, May 3rd, during our regular service time, we will gather for a special ceremony to remove and replace the Peace Pole together. This will be a meaningful moment of recommitment—an opportunity to come together as a community and set fresh intention for the times we are living in.

Time Capsule Invitation

The new Peace Pole includes space for a small time capsule. We invite you to bring a small item, note, or memento to be placed inside—something that represents your prayers, intentions, or this moment in time. Items must be able to fit through an opening roughly the size of a juice or 2-liter bottle.

Event Details

Please park at the Lighthouse Chapel. We will gather and begin at the Friendship Garden, where the ceremony will take place.

Looking Ahead

This new Peace Pole carries languages from around the world, reflecting a shared prayer for peace across all people. As part of this next chapter, we are also working toward placing an additional Peace Pole at the lake altar. We’ve already reached about one-third of that goal.
